About this site

ImproviZazen is my personal practice shared here which explores the common interconnectedness of the Zen(ish) mindset with the practices of yogic traditions, improvisational music and the generation of visual art. Each of these practices alone can be used as a process of self discovery and self transformation. A process by which to deeply inquire into the true nature of the self, see it clearly and thereby craft a more pure expression of your deeper true self by removing the layers of ego, aversion and attraction that ensnare the mind.

The focus of ImproviZazen is more on the process than product. Beautiful works of art, music and other expressions are the inevitable byproduct as are works that may be regarded as ugly. The process focuses on creating a safe environment to express and explore what is is within you that makes such judgements and exploring why that is.

Working to remove the barriers of the self and allow the deeper interconnectedness of all things manifest itself. Relinquish your attachment to the outcome and awaken to a deeper awareness of what is already happening all around and within you.
